What Is The Saskatchewan Agriculture Talent Pathway? 

In August 2024, the Government of Saskatchewan introduced the Agriculture Talent Pathway to support its growing agriculture sector and address workforce shortages. This pathway is now part of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) and focuses on recruiting experienced agriculture workers from abroad and within Canada on temporary status. 

“A skilled and flexible agricultural workforce is essential to our increasing role in global food security as a supplier our markets can rely on – which keeps our producers competitive and profitable and keeps our economy strong and growing,” Agriculture Minister David Marit said. “Labour shortages are a constraint to growth for agricultural producers, and by supporting them in filling critical jobs through this new pathway, we will strengthen the agricultural sector and enable producers to meet growing demands.”

Eligibility For Saskatchewan Agriculture Talent Pathway

Eligibility Status

• Must live outside Canada or have proof of legal status in Canada, and not be a refugee claimant.

Language Proficiency

• Minimum CLB 4 in English or French. Employers or regulators may request higher scores.

Work Experience

• One year of full-time work experience in the past three years or six months (780 hours) of full-time work with the employer offering the job.

Job Offer

• Must have a permanent, full-time agricultural job offer in Saskatchewan with a valid SINP Job Approval Letter.

Education

• Completed secondary school or higher.

Residency Intention

• Must attest to the intent to live and work in Saskatchewan.
