Type of draw: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
Invitations issued: 324
Minimum CRS score: 786
Tie-breaking rule: November 19, 2025 at 18:53:59 UTC
Prediction for next draw: Canadian Experience Class (CEC) on April 14. Check our dedicated page for more on when we’re expecting the next Express Entry draw.
Today’s draw was in line with the last few weeks. 324 candidates were invited and needed a minimum CRS cut off score of 786 to get an invitation. The most recent draw on March 30 invited 356 candidates with a minimum CRS of 802.
PNP draws remain quite small compared to Canadian Experience Class or category-based selection draws. It’s interesting given that the department has a much higher allocation this year (91,500) than it did in 2025 (55,000). However, there are currently over 108,000 non- Express Entry PNP applications in the queue to be processed and 13,700 Express Entry PNP applications.
The CRS score for this week is a bit lower than it was last week. The 802 score we saw in the March 30 draw was a big jump compared to the last two PNP draws at 742 and 710. This could be because the number of candidates in the Express Entry application pool shrinks substantially when looking at the number of applications with scores higher than between 601 and 1200. Data from March 29 shows there were 351 applications in the pool within that range, although this is likely different by now.
There have been some changes to Canada’s PNP since the last Express Entry draw. Mainly, IRCC has will no longer have the authority to determine if a candidate is economically established within a province.
This will limit IRCC’s ability to assess PNP candidates and could lead to more PNP nominations overall. It’s potentially good news for Express Entry candidates looking for the 600 CRS point boost that you can get from being nominated.
However, this also means that IRCC will have more candidates to choose from, and it will be more important than ever to ensure you are doing everything you can to maximize your CRS score. Put another way, we could see CRS scores for PNP draws stay high, or increase, over the next few draws.
IRCC is on the edge of making huge changes to Canada’s Express Entry system. It is considering consolidating all three Express Entry programs (the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program ) into one program, which will have a substantial impact on eligibility criteria.
This will also include a revamped CRS point system, including the possible modification or removal of the 600 points for PNP candidates (this is according to an internal memo IRCC released last week).
Removing these points could possibly mean the end to PNP draws. However, that’s an extreme case and it’s more likely that the number of points will change. Provinces rely heavily on the PNP to single out candidates that can economically establish themselves quickly by filling urgent local labour force gaps. In fact, most years provincial governments tend to push back on the limited number of PNP allocations they receive.
The changes are still in the proposal stage, so we will have to wait and see how Express Entry will change. In the meantime, candidates should continue to maximize their CRS scores according to the current system stay up to date with the latest Express Entry news by joining the Moving2Canada community.
