The Vancouver area has had a deep, long-standing relationship with Britain. Indeed, the city is named after Captain George Vancouver, who explored the area in 1791.
While contemporary Vancouver is more noted for absorbing immigrants from around the world, particularly Asia, the city still attracts many British nationals, many of whom arrive on working holiday/IEC visas.
