Key Takeaways for Express Entry Candidates

Watch this reel for a quick breakdown

Our Analysis of This Week’s Express Entry Draw

Today’s French category draw was one of the smallest French category draws in 2024 — as well as being on the higher end of the CRS cut-off for candidates with French ability. The draw rounds out the total number of French draw invitations to 24% of all invitations sent so far in 2024 — at 21,400 invitations. However, bear in mind that French-speaking candidates may be invited in Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and general draws too, so the total number of French speakers invited in 2024 is likely to be higher.

With 21,400 invitations issued to date in French category draws for 2024, French-speaking applicants are the most targeted category in Express Entry category-based draws, receiving 59% of category-based invitations.

Demonstrating French ability is a great way to secure your invitation. use our CRS calculator to see your CRS score if you learned French.

Earlier this week, IRCC conducted a PNP draw and a small CEC draw. The decrease in draw size could indicate that changes may be made to the 2025-2027 immigration levels plan, due to be announced in early November 2024.

We will report on any changes to immigration levels as soon as we have more information.
