This is the first Express Entry draw for June 2024. It has been an extremely trying two months for Express Entry candidates, as IRCC has stopped following its ‘usual’ bi-weekly schedule with regular draws every other Tuesday.
Candidates are expressing frustrating and fatigue with the inconsistent draws and lack of clarity about IRCC’s internal discussions that are causing uncertainty and fear we haven’t seen since the pandemic-era policy changes.
As for the PNP draw on June 19, we saw the CRS cut off drop to 663, which is good news for PNP candidates. It means that a significant number of those with a provincial nomination will likely see an invitation this week (if not all PNP candidates).
For those of you awaiting a general Express Entry draw, remember that a provincial nomination comes with 600 additional points. Remember that the result in this PNP round is not a sign that General Express Entry draws will have scores above 600 in the future.
Three weeks after IRCC conducted its first Provincial Nominee Program draw in 2024, we saw another PNP round on June 19.
This round is much smaller than the May draw, with only 1,499 invitations issued. However, this round also saw a significant drop in CRS cutoff, at just 663. Given that PNP candidates receive 600 points once they are nominated, this means that those who received an invitation in this round could have as few as 63 points outside of their PNP nomination.
