Our Analysis of This Express Entry Draw
Continuing the trend of small draws, today’s Canadian Experience Class draw is the smallest CEC draw ever — with just 400 invitations issued. Predictably, with such a small draw, the CRS cut-off is high, at 539.
This small round brings our running total of Canadian Experience Class invitations in 2024 to 25,700. So, it’s likely that at least a quarter of invitations sent in 2024 will go to candidates with Canadian work experience.
The draws this week, a PNP on Monday and CEC on Tuesday, resumes the recent trend of bi-weekly PNP draws after an unusual September that saw only one CEC draw.
However, it is worth noting that it has been almost three months since we saw a category-based draw other than for French speaking candidates. The last category-based draw outside of the French draws was in July, where we saw a run of category-based draws from July 4-8. Healthcare occupations, trade occupations, and French speaking candidates were invited in this time period.
We are interested to see when the next category-based draw will be and which category will be drawn.

What Do We Expect For The Rest Of October?
So far, 4,261 invitations have been issued. As we close out October, based on past months, we could still see a category-based draw issuing between 1,000 and 2,000 invitations.
