About the Author

After moving to Canada from the United States in 2021, Sara joined the Moving2Canada team at the end of 2022 to work as the team’s Social Media and Community Manager. Before immigrating to Canada, Sara earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Digital Content Strategy while playing Division I volleyball in the United States.

Prior to joining the Moving2Canada team, Sara spent several years working as a digital marketing consultant for a variety of companies in both Canada and the United States. As a dual citizen of both these countries, Sara brings a unique perspective to our team. Originally from the Chicago area, Sara now lives in Victoria, B.C. where she spends her free time hanging out with her dog Koda, and trying new restaurants in downtown Victoria.

Sara’s immigration journey:

After living in the United States for most of her life, Sara decided to capitalize on her claim to Canadian citizenship in 2020. Because one of Sara’s parents was born in Canada, she was able to successfully apply for proof of Canadian citizenship and move to Victoria, BC at the end of 2021. Sara now enjoys dual citizenship in both Canada and the United States.
