Our Analysis of this Express Entry Draw

In today’s PNP draw, 511 candidates with a provincial nomination received invitations to apply for permanent residence. The minimum CRS score required to get an ITA was 744.

Today’s cut-off falls within the range we’ve seen for PNP draws so far this year. The lowest CRS cut-off in 2026 was 708 on July 6, while the highest was 805 on May 25.

As of July 19, 2026, there were 511 Express Entry profiles with a score above 601 in the pool. Since a provincial nomination adds 600 CRS points, this band reflects the nominated candidates available for invitation. This also aligns exactly with the number of ITAs issued today.

So far this year, draw sizes have ranged between 264 and 955 ITAs, remaining in sync with the number of candidates in that score range in the Express Entry pool.

This is the 14th PNP draw of 2026. It brings the year-to-date total of PNP ITAs to 6,450.

What Does This Mean for PNP Candidates? 

If you got an invitation today, congratulations! If you’re expecting a provincial nomination in the coming months, you’re in a good place in your path to PR.

Although PNP draws have remained smaller compared to CEC and category-based (especially French and Healthcare) draws, that has more to do with the number of nominated candidates in the pool. According to the trend we’ve seen this year, nearly all eligible candidates with a provincial nomination get an ITA in the following PNP draw.

However, IRCC cannot invite more PNP candidates than there are eligible nominees in the pool, and provinces have not meaningfully increased their Express Entry-linked nomination volumes to match the higher federal admissions target of 91,500 for 2026. This is why draw sizes and the total number of ITAs issued so far in 2026 have remained relatively small.

As of July 7, 2026, IRCC had approximately 12,100 Express Entry-linked PNP applications and 103,800 base PNP applications waiting for processing. This means that IRCC can easily meet the PNP admissions target for the year even if there are no more PNP draws.

However, we do not expect IRCC to pause PNP draws. Most provinces, including British Columbia, Manitoba, and Alberta, still have significant nomination spaces left for 2026. Moreover, the Express Entry PNP processing time now sits at around seven months. This means that candidates who receive an ITA today and submit a complete application will likely get a permanent residence decision in the first quarter of 2027 — and as a result, will count under the 2027 admission target.

What’s Next for Express Entry Candidates

A provincial nomination remains the most direct path to an ITA if your CRS score falls below the current CEC range. The 600-point boost a nomination adds to your score places you well above the PNP cut-off in most rounds.

If a nomination is not within reach, here are some other ways to strengthen your position in the Express Entry pool:

• Improve your language scores: Take refresher classes or retake your language test to get the maximum possible score.
• Learn or improve your French skills: French language proficiency offers a distinct advantage. Not only will French proficiency add to your score, a NCLC 7 across all language abilities could also make you eligible for French category draws.
• Gain more or more targeted work experience: An extra year of foreign or Canadian work experience may help increase your score. If your experience is in health care, medicine, senior management, or trades, you may even qualify for a category-based draw.
• Maximize the spousal factor points: If you have a spouse or partner, ensure their profile is included and their scores for language and education are as high as possible. This might mean getting an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for them or getting them to retake language tests.

IRCC has proposed significant changes to Express Entry, including consolidating the three current federal programs into one and revising how CRS points are awarded. One of the proposed changes is a reconsideration of the 600-point nomination bonus. If and when these changes are implemented, your eligibility, score, or ranking in the pool might be affected.
