Skyscapes is looking to hire general labourers and construction workers for permanent full time positions. The role is in Toronto, Ontario and may include weekend and/or evening hours.
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with your experience, starting at $24-32 per hour. There are opportunities to work overtime, as well as room for growth within the company for the right candidates and a team-wide profit sharing system in place. Skyscapes also has a track record of securing LMIAs for valuable team members, so it’s a good fit for those authorized to work in Canada on an IEC or other initial open temporary work permit.
A typical day in the life of a Skyscaper starts at the HQ in Etobicoke before the team splits up and drives to job sites across the GTA to live its mission to redefine the city skyline.

Team Preparedness

Ensure all team members are prepared at the start of each day with tools, materials, and safety equipment

Ensure the Start of Day Checklist is completed, submitted and approved.

Review and plan work for the day
Customer Service

The first point of communication for clients during the installation

Complete a walkthrough before installation begins to address any potential issues that may occur and to ensure we understand clients’ expectations and ensure they know ours

Keep the client posted with any updates

Complete a walkthrough after the installation is complete to ensure that the client is satisfied and address any last questions

Requesting online client reviews
Layout Planning and Coordination

Confirming area before the job starts by planning floor layout and pattern and identifying problems and finding solutions

Utilizing other team members’ skills effectively

Informing management of low-stock
-
Filling out job orders and returns
Leadership and Training
-
Training installers, secondary installers, and trainees on Skyscape methods

Ensuring the team is working efficiently, effectively, and safely

Holding the team accountable to Skyscapes’ high standards

Delegating tasks to other team members efficiently

Lead by example in measuring, marking, and cutting and efficiently laying and levelling tiles
Administrative Tasks

Taking proper before and after pictures

Completing daily check-ins and updating service fusion status

Updating service fusion with completed pictures

Informing management of low-stock

Filling out job orders and returns

Ensuring paperwork is properly completed
About The Ideal Candidate
About You
Skyscapes is looking to hire physically fit tradespeople and labourers who are authorized to work in Canada or will acquire work authorization soon. You are also:
- Reliable and punctual.
- A good communicator and team player.
- Known to have a positive attitude.
Experience:
Experience is preferred, but training is available for suitable candidates who are physically fit and driven.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate:
- Has a valid driving license.
- Is experienced in cutting tile and/or levelling, or is physically fit and motivated to learn.
- Is proficient in English.
