Video Transcription

  • Canada held two Express Entry draws this week: a General draw and a French-based draw.
  • On April 23, IRCC conducted a General draw, inviting 2,095 candidates to apply for PR.
  • The CRS cut-off score was set at 529 points.
  • This draw marked the 9th General draw this year
  • Notably, the CRS score for this draw was 20 points lower than the previous General draw on April 10.
  • Despite a drop of 20 points from the previous draw, the cut-off score remained within the typical range for this year.
  • If General draws continue at this frequency and size, it’s likely the cut-off threshold will stay above 500.
  • The following day, a French-based draw took place, aligning with the expectation of increased category-based draws in 2024.
  • 1,400 candidates were invited, with a CRS cut-off score of 410 points, the highest yet this year for a French draw.
  • This score was slightly higher than expected, given previous French draws had cut-off scores in the mid-300 range or slightly above.
  • For insights on the recent draw trends, visit our Express Entry draw page linked in the bio.
