This latest round, which saw 1,085 PNP invitations issued, is the largest PNP-specific draw in the past two months. It follows a series of smaller draws, such as the one on December 2, 2024, where only 676 ITAs were issued.
Interestingly, despite the higher volume of ITAs issued in this draw, the CRS cut-off score increased from 705 on December 2, to 727. This suggests growing competition within the PNP pool.
With today’s results, the total number of Express Entry PNP-specific draws in 2024 now stands at 14, with 15,483 invitations issued so far.
Here is the breakdown of PNP invitations issued per month:
From January to April, IRCC invited PNP applicants through general draws. We do not have the exact number of provincial nominees invited during these rounds.
If you haven’t received an invitation in 2024, but you have a provincial nomination, you may need to wait until 2025 to get your ITA. With the Holidays around the corner, this may be the last PNP-specific draw for 2024, unless IRCC surprises us with a draw on December 30th!
But, if you are a Canadian Experience Class applicant, you may see a CEC-specific draw this week, which will be welcome news to many considering IRCC ‘skipped’ the CEC draw during the week of December 2nd, 2024.
With pent-up demand for CEC applicants due to the lack of a draw two weeks ago, combined with the series of mini-CEC draws in October and November, the CRS cut-off is likely to remain high if a CEC draw occurs tomorrow.
Between November 19 (around the time of the last CEC draw) and today, the number of applicants with CRS scores between 501 and 600 has risen sharply from 11,800 to 19,885. As a result, if there is a draw this week, the CRS cut-off is expected to be well over 500.
