What is Moving2Canada GO?
Moving2Canada is changing the way we deliver information and advice to our community of ambitious, adventure-seeking newcomers to Canada and those on the way over soon. Among other initiatives, we have launched Moving2Canada GO, a tool that enables our community to organize their move and settlement in Canada simply, while avoiding potentially costly errors along the way. The goal is to help you enjoy success in a new and exciting place: Canada.
How does Moving2Canada GO work?
First, we ask you to tell us where you’re from, your age, what you want to achieve, where you are in the journey, and when you’d like to arrive in Canada. With this information, we create your personalized list of tasks, which we call your Progress Checklist, as well as articles and other material with your interests in mind. Each Moving2Canada community member’s Progress Checklist is unique to them, their circumstances and personal goals. We put you as an individual at the heart of everything we do.
During your first visit, you’ll be presented with a few very important tasks. When you complete those tasks, we’ll show you which of the remaining tasks are then most important as you get closer to making the move and settling in to life in Canada. You can always see what’s coming up, which helps you plan out your move. We’ve also organized the tasks across three stages of your journey, from getting ready, to landing in Canada, to actually being here and making the most of this amazing opportunity.
To help you keep track of your move, we’ll send a weekly email reminder of your important tasks.
Who is it for?
Currently, Moving2Canada GO has been created for participants in the International Experience Canada (IEC) program, which includes tens of thousands of people who take part in the working holiday category annually. We are working hard every day to broaden the scope of the tool. In addition to offering it to more people across more immigration categories over time, we are also building and testing great new features and drilling down into your personal experience and goals to recommend more useful tasks and helpful resources.
What if I’m not eligible for IEC?
If you’re not eligible for the IEC program currently, we can still help you. Please take note of the following:
- Canada offers a broad range of immigration programs. The best way for us to help you identify which program might be right for you is to register a Moving2Canada account, sign up for our newsletter, and maintain an accurate profile with us. To get started, click here.
- We’re currently working hard to bring more people and programs into the scope of this tool.
Is it free?
Yes, it’s free, and we have no intention of ever charging you for using our site.
Is my information safe?
Yes, Moving2Canada GO Is compliant with CASL and GDPR. We ensure that your data is stored securely and we don’t share it with anyone unless you have specifically opted in to receive communication from a trusted partner. We also don’t gather additional information about you from other sources to create data-enriched profiles. We only know what you tell us about yourself.
Is Moving2Canada owned by an immigration lawyer or consultant?
Moving2Canada is not owned by an immigration lawyer or consultant.
If you’re not a lawyer or consultant, how can I know that the information on Moving2Canada is accurate and up to date?
Great question. Most of our editorial staff worked with some of Canada’s largest immigration law firms before joining the Moving2Canada team. In previous roles with other companies, we gained a deep knowledge of the Canadian immigration system and the experiences of immigrants as they carry out a major life decision — moving to a new country. Indeed, most of our team are immigrants themselves, so they are able to combine their professional experience with an empathetic understanding of what it’s like to establish yourself in a new country. Moreover, while we are not lawyers or consultants ourselves, we maintain professional relationships with a tight group of some of Canada’s top, most experienced regulated immigration consultants. We live and breathe immigration and understand first-hand what it’s like to move to Canada, including the steps involved in applying for status in Canada.
Can I still access the rest of Moving2Canada.com?
Yes, all the content you enjoyed before the launch of Moving2Canada GO is still here. In fact, we are pumping out more and even better content than ever before.
There are a few ways you can find the information and resources you’re looking for. Desktop users can navigate quickly to our most popular pages by hovering over the menu items at the top of their browser. Mobile users can find that same menu by clicking the menu icon in the top right corner of their screen. You can also use the powerful search functionality, which is helpful if you have an idea of what information you’re looking for. But the whole idea behind Moving2Canada GO is that you are served the content you need or want, right when you need it, and with an occasional gentle nudge from us — because we know you’ve got plenty of other things going on in your life on top of this big move!
Which features will be added in the future?
Right now we’re gathering feedback from the growing number of users and assessing how they (you!) can be better served. We will never stop looking for improvements to our service.
We are constantly observing Canada’s immigration programs and jobs market, and always listening to the incredible people who make up our community. We are very thankful for each member of our community for helping us grow every single day, and are extremely proud of you all for making a success of this opportunity to strive for more in a new land.
