Canada has increased its immigration processing fees, effective April 30, 2020.
Full details about the fee increases are listed below. These increases are in accordance with percentage increases in Canada’s Consumer Price Index, and will be reviewed again in two years’ time.
The following fee increases took effect on April 30:
- Fees for principal applicants of non-business economic classes (Express Entry, Quebec Skilled Worker, Provincial Nominee Programs, etc.) increased from $550 to $825 (an increase of 50%). Note: this increase does not apply to fees for principal applicants and their families in the Caregivers programs, which remain unchanged.
- Fees for principal applicants of business classes (including self-employed, start-up visa, Quebec investor, Quebec entrepreneur, and Quebec self-employed) increased from $1,050 to $1,575 (an increase of 50%).
- Fees for spouses or common-law partners of all Economic classes increased from $550 to $825 (an increase of 50%).
- Fees for dependent children of all Economic classes increased from $150 to $225 (an increase of 50%).
- The right of permanent resident fee increased from $490 to $500 (an increase of 2%).
