Today’s draw marks the first Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw since February 5, 2025. But the results may be disappointing for many of those in the Express Entry pool who have been anxiously awaiting a CEC draw.
Express Entry draw 346 is a Provincial Nominee Program specific draw that took place on May 12, 2025, inviting 511 candidates with an eligible provincial nomination to apply for permanent residence.
Canada started targeting French speakers through its Express Entry system in mid-2023. Since then 50,200 French speaking candidates have received invitations to apply to permanent residence through French category-based rounds.
For decades, Canada proudly welcomed immigrants – but that all changed in 2024 when Canada slashed its permanent immigration targets after years of historic growth. The targets were slashed in response to public concerns over strained healthcare, housing shortages, and increasing unemployment – for which immigrants were blamed.
