Canada has announced two new measures that will impact immigration to the country's smaller communities.

1. The RNIP will become permanent

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is set to become a permanent program after several successful years of the pilot.

2. Two new pilots are launching this fall

The new pilots are called the Rural Community Immigration Pilot and the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot.

These pilots will be similar to the RNIP and will be expanded to francophone communities. Applications will open this spring.
