General Contractor

Infrastructure contractor focused on transportation infrastructure projects across Canada

Our client, a major transportation contractor, is currently seeking an Experienced Project Manager and Assistan Project Manager to join their team. This position’s primary function is to be the senior on-site manager in charge of major project construction execution.

The PM coordinates, plans and supervises field staff, subcontractors and craft activities for the entire project or projects. They maintain liaison with other departments to assure all required materials, equipment and inspections are in place to support the project schedule. The PM updates and is responsible for the budget and the schedule of the project or projects. Ideally holds experience managing projects $20m – $100m upwards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Proposal Manager with development of responses to RFEOI &
    RFP
  • Coordinate promotional material with Proposal Department
  • Validation of PM Budget
  • Creation of Sales Order
  • Review cost to date and update budget monthly
  • Conduct Budget review meetings with Construction Manager &
    Superintendent
  • Update CPSR monthly
  • Conduct Various Meetings (Design, PM, Utility, Environmental, etc)
  • Review and Approve Project Plans
  • Negotiate with Sub-contractors / Suppliers
  • Develop and update Project Schedule
  • Prepare Monthly Progress Reports
  • Oversee Project Quality Management System
  • Prepare Progress Draws
  • Coordinate CCO’s with CM and Estimator
  • Approve invoices for integration
  • Assist with development of employees for future advancement
  • Confirm resources are available for project
  • Attend Division Meetings
  • Well-developed understanding of road/bridge construction
  • Knowledgeable in settlement, utilities, roadwork and structural work

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • BCIT Graduate in Civil Construction or equivalent work experience
  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Civil and Structural Engineer Technologist or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Field experience in related disciplines
  • Understanding of construction processes

KNOWLEDGE

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Project Management role
  • Experience with Design-Build Projects

Strictly follows:

  • WorkSafeBC Standards (eg. OHS regulations, Worker’s Compensation Act, Employment Standards Act)
  • Adherence to company health and safety policy in the workplace
  • OFA III

Compensation:

  • Assistant Project Manager: $90k-$110k
  • Project Manager: $120k-150k
